About the Author
Peggy Klaus coaches executives worldwide to become effective leaders and communicators. Her clients are professionals in organizations of all sizes, including JP Morgan Chase, Chevron, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Oracle, The National Football League, American Express, and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Klaus has lectured at Harvard University (Kennedy School of Government and School of Public Health); the Executive MBA programs at Wharton, Smith College, and the University of California, Davis; Barnard College, the University of Virginia, Pepperdine School of Law, and the University of California, Berkeley (Haas School of Business, Boalt School of Law, and the School of Public Health), among others.
A frequent contributor to the Sunday business section of The New York Times on issues confronting today’s leaders and managers, her ideas and expertise have also been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and on Nightline, the Today Show, and 20/20.
Klaus is the author of two best-selling books: BRAG! The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It and The Hard Truth About Soft Skills: Workplace Lessons Smart People Wish They’d Learned Sooner.
Previous to founding Klaus & Associates in 1993, she was a producer, director and talent coach in Hollywood and worked with actors, comedians, musicians, and broadcast news talent in productions for Paramount Studios, Warner Brothers, ABC, CBS, and NBC.
Klaus has served as a board member for the Women’s Leadership Board of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, the Financial Women's Association of San Francisco and the SAGE Scholars at the University of California, Berkeley. She currently sits on the board of The Young Women’s Leadership Network.
She earned advanced degrees in drama, speech, and theatre from the London-based Royal Academy of Music and the Drama Studio.
When not on the road in the US, Asia, and Europe, Klaus resides in Berkeley, California with her husband, Randy.
